The Division of Pain and Palliative Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and The University of Connecticut is seeking an additional faculty member.
Interested candidates will be clinicians and possess interest or expertise in pediatric pain management. The position is flexible and will be tailored to the candidate's experience and interests. A committed candidate with experience in other areas such as hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesia or emergency medicine may be considered. Opportunities to explore research interests are also available. The selected candidate will receive an academic appointment commensurate with experience at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
The division has an active inpatient acute pain consultation service, and the only chronic pain clinic in Connecticut. Members of the division are also involved in palliative care, sedation and integrative medicine. There is a divisional commitment to research and members of the division have funding from sources such as the NIH, Mayday Fund and the Donaghue foundation.
Connecticut Children's is a ChildKind Certified Institution and the Division was the recipient of the American Pain Society Center of Clinical Excellence Award in 2014.
Connecticut Children's is a 185-bed free standing hospital with an 18-bed PICU and a 32-bed NICU. They are committed with families to provide outstanding clinical care for children, and perform cutting edge clinical and basic research. Connecticut Children's maintains a Division of Research, a Research Center, a Childhood database Center, an Injury Prevention Center and serves as a satellite for the General Child Research center for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Additionally, it is home of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine residency program in pediatrics.
