The Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is seeking board certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians. Faculty members will provide state of the art, family centered care to children (newborn to 17 years of age) to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries. Candidates should have strong leadership skills and experience. Potential for leadership opportunities in management, quality improvement, research, and education are also available. Salary, academic rank and promotion track will be commensurate with academic experience.
The Pediatric Emergency Department at MUSC is a separate 12-bed unit and serves as the only level 1 trauma and burn center in the state and has a fully-accredited PEM fellowship. We are the tertiary/quarternary referral center for our region. Our ED sees 26,000 pediatric visits a year and another 25,000 visits at our 3 After Hours Facilities. All pediatric subspecialties are represented with 24-hour PICU call starting this summer. MUSC had six subspecialties ranked in the recent US News and World Report top 50 rankings.
