Naah... You don't need to feel so alone in the world!
We in the UK and the rest of the Western world have all of these problems, just like you...
Except for the one about guns!!!
But that's the point, isn't it?
(BTW, it might be because of lack of research, but I don't think I have seen enough to convince me of the protective benefits (actual; not theoretical) of having a gun when facing another. Lots of stuff out there to show the benefits of a bullet-proof vest, though...

Yes. The US is largely one big evolving political contradiction on many topics.
Hollywood celebrities are funding anti gun marches but Hollywood makes a living on violence.
Guns are bad until you see someone who is pointing one at you.
Religion is good only if you share its beliefs.
Illegal immigration supporters are often the same who hire folks pay them nothing and offer no benefits.
We arenít any better.
AAP is the voice for children after one can hold them.
We complain about ed visits and lack of pem docs but little to reduce visits. Just add more and more staff and try to do less and less clinical shifts.
We oppose policy and regulation but every medical committee I have served on proposes new policy and regulation.
It goes on and on and always will.
