The Department of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University is recruiting a well-qualified candidate to add to our growing section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Located within the only academic medical center in the state, our Emergency Department (ED) is the major referral site for children with complex medical needs. Our enthusiastic group of 8 Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physicians, 9 Emergency Medicine physicians, and 3 PEM Fellows is committed to providing high-quality emergency care to the population we serve while at the same time promoting the educational mission of the university in our work with medical students and residents.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU is home to 35 full time faculty and another 30 adjunct faculty members. The department is ranked 3nd in NIH Funded Research and is home to the Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine (CPR-EM). Our residency program currently trains 33 residents and offers a diverse training environment through partnerships at several area hospitals. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (DCH) at OHSU is a 151-bed pediatric acute care and referral center. Our ED is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a Level 1 Verified Children’s Surgery Center, one of the first five hospitals in the country to achieve both designations. The Pediatric Emergency Department sees 15,000 patients per year and continued growth is expected.
