The NEJM of 12 Feb 98 had a review article on analgesic nephropathy - which
made me wary of giving myself, my children, and my patients, any acetominophen.
Reye's syndrome - described by the Australian pathologist Reye - seemed to
put the end to the use of aspirin and brought in the age of 'paracetamol' -
the generic name for acetominophen in this country.
I wonder if 'Tylenol' might soon bite the dust in the way aspirin did?
Primum non nocere.
I have no shares in anything!
