I've often found it a bit annoying when I have to put several Ps in a Q
or NOTE: you are not allowed to have any characters (including white
space) outside the Ps. Would it be better to have Q and NOTE with
character content and BQ and BNOTE containing Ps? (B standing for "big"
or "block" or something.) I'm sure this isn't an original suggestion;
perhaps someone has a list handy of the pros and cons.
XML might give a technical motivation for a change in this respect:
Would the person who is adapting TEI Lite to XML care to comment? It
would be nice to know how things might be going to change.
