At the recent National Congress on Childhood Emergencies, I discussed the
use of ketamine in the treatment of severe acute asthma. There may have
been some confusion as to the doses I suggested.
The dosing should be:
Initial dose of 0.5-1 mg/kg,
followed by a continuous drip at 0.01 mg/kg/min (10 mcg/kg/min).
Please feel free to contact me directly if you need any additional
clarification or information.
