I think my point was missed..
We have added several new physicians to our staff of eight. We have added
another 4.5 physicians and am still looking for at least one more, so no I
would not say that I only look away from physician staffing BUT.. once we
are fully staffed, I would not as to have the physicians be on call for the
times when there are bottle necks.. We work hard enough and long enough that
before I encroach further on their families lives, I would want to see that
all the other factors are in control..We staff adequately at all times
anticipating the high volumes..so there are times when we are flush with
physicians, yet there are still long waiting times ..the answer is not that
there is a doctor shortage , at least in our department. It is more
obviously a nursing shortage, not enough of them to carry out the orders we
