Here is my $0.02...
Having been a paramedic for 14 years, I always liked the call audits. In
our call audits, we had a copy of the ED chart on those reviewed calls. If
you can set up a special box for those special calls that you wanted
reviewed, then you will have follow-up. I also encourage you to get us
RN's involved in your call audits.
Follow-up in person is always good, but it can stress the system. I like
the idea of a single ED contact person. When you bring in a really
challanging case, just let the primary RN know to let RN Doe know the
outcome so that you can get follow-up.
We all must remember that we are a team from the field to the ED and beyond.
We all have to work together to deliver the best possible emergency care.
