I fully agree with Dr.'s Lelyveld, Salik & others who would honor the
patient's request for "plastics", after explaining to them the delay, no
outcome difference and possibility of insurance denial. I asked my wife
(non physician) this question with my daughter as the hypothetical
patient!! This was her reply.......
"It would depend on how much confidence the EDP instilled in me, but no way
would I let a medical student sow her face up!!!"
So there you go. I share Dr Lelyveld's experience that eventually I do end
up sowing up most of them unless they have been brainwashed by some
telephone triage person that all facial lacs (especially in girls) need to
be sowed by plastics. Has anyone had that experience? Nothing against phone
triage, but sometimes they fail to acknowledge our skills.
