I passed the ketamine information on to the PICU list service and was given
this reply by Dr. Barry Markovitz of St. Louis Children's Hospital...
Reuter's story was erroneous. Ketamine has recently been made a Schedule
III drug; it is not being considered as a Schedule I drug. A colleague
tracked this down doggedly and Reuters replied with the following message.
I would suggest you send this back to the Peds ER list. We have permission
to cross post it.

We thank you for calling our attention to what has turned out to be an
error in our story on ketamine.
According to our Washington reporter, "ketamine to remain on schedule III
list (piece states it would be put on schedule I list)....GHB to be put on
schedule I list."
We apologize and will correct the error in our archives on our website.
