Hello Jim and All.
I am glad that Jim jumped in because I know he did the study cited regarding
midazolam for seizures. Just so all are aware, when giving IM midazolam at
"0.2 mg/kg", be cognizant of the fact that this is twice the recognized and
recommended starting IV titration dose for sedation. Perhaps this is the way
I should of stated it since there is no true "slam dunk" dose of midazolam
due to its inconconsistent ED50. On the other hand, pentobarbital, ketamine,
and propofol at the doses previously discussed are Ewingesque "slam dunks"
because they always work (I'm a former Hoya - sorry).
