Due to overwhelming interest in the discharge instruction program, I am
posting the following information. If anyone is interested enough to see
samples of discharge instructions, let me know via e-mail
([log in to unmask]).
The following is a brief description of the our Discharge Program:
ER Quick Discharge Program
1. Over 1000 Aftercare Instructions in English and Spanish. These are
fully customizable with no programming required for the customization. You
don't even have to shut down the program to do the customizing. Just type
in the changes you want either for individual patients or for all future
patients or stick with the instructions as they are written - its your
2. Write and save your own Custom Aftercare Instructions and an Automatic
Translation ability (comes with the program) to translate these to Spanish.
3. Medication Information Documents On Over 1750 medicines. These include
information on what the medicines do, how to take them, side effects to
watch for, and more. These are written in English and Spanish and, like the
aftercare instructions, are fully customizable.
4. Automatic Prescription Writing For All Medicines. Writing a prescription
for any medicine can be done with one mouse click! The prescription is
printed on Clinic letterhead and appears over the name and license number,
and DEA number of the physician user. All the physician needs to do is
sign it! This is done using prescription protocols which come with the
program and are based on the most up-to-date recommendations on dosage,
duration of treatment and other prescription details. These protocols are
fully customizable by individual physician users. All it takes is typing in
the desired changes. Different physician users at the same site can each
write prescriptions according to their own individual preferences. There
can be as many sets of prescription protocols as there are physician users.
5. Follow Up Instructions are easily created with only a few mouse clicks.
These include names, addresses and phone numbers of referral doctors or
facilities, all drawn from the program's data files. There is no need for
the user to type in this information. These can be written in English or
Spanish. Standard, frequently used follow up instructions can be created
and saved - without programming and without shutting the program down.
6. Doctor's Excuses, Work Releases and Other Doctor's Notes can be easily
created with one or two mouse clicks. Like prescriptions, these appear on
Clinic letterhead over the appropriate physician's name and license numbers.
7. Automatic Saving and Quick Recall of what instructions and documents
were given to individual patients. All instructions and documents given are
saved under the patient's name, the date of the visit, and the ID number of
that patient. These records are available later for immediate recall.
8. Quick Access to Clinically Relevant Information. Useful information on
such medication characteristics as relative cost, pregnancy risk class,
coverage by Medicaid and other major 3rd party payors, lactation risk class,
available preparations, contraindications, drug interactions,
incompatibilities with other medicines, generic and brand names, and
chemical class is immediately at hand. Lookup is many times faster than in
any book. The program's search engine enables the user to quickly determine
which medicines meet certain criteria. For example, in a few seconds one
can create a list of diuretics which are pregnancy risk class C or better,
which are paid for by Medicaid and have a relative cost index of 4 or less.
The program is a great educational rescue for physicians and nurses using it
as well as for patients.
9. User Friendly Interface. The screen layouts and modes of performing
tasks and accessing information have been developed based on suggestions
from actual users of the program at Menifee Valley Medical Center in Sun
City, California and Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta, California. Even
users who are not used to working with computers have praised the interface.
$5,000.00 per site license. There is no upper limit on the number of users
