Thanks John Robert,
Well, I am working on an electronic thesis (pilot) project at Laval
University in Quebec City. We are using Teilite to encode our thesis in
SGML. Our students are asked to use a Word Stylesheet which is then mappe=
to Teilite using Omnimark.
We hope that the Teiheader will be produced by the students. To this ends=
we are setting up a FileMaker Database on the web that will be used by th=
students to enter themselves their cataloguing information. Then, always
with Omnimark, we will convert the FileMaker records to a Teiheader
structure that will be pasted on top of the thesis.
As I don't want to make all these efforts if TEAHEADER is eventually goin=
to an RDF schema, I asked this question.
Some of you already answered me privately that there is no indication tha=
RDF will eventually be used on the Web. I personnaly think that as there
are already 800 millions of documents on the Web, a metadata framework is
essential. If the TEI community is going to port TEILITE to XML, I am jus=
asking, are there any reflexions being also made to port the TEIHEADER to
RDF ? Is it an option ? why and why not ?
Thanks for the answer(s)
P.S. my mother tongue is French so excuse the roughs edges if there are s=
