        these are probably related to the word for ice, but not necessarily.

NE = ja thíńie

the North-East = lji sóththíńien
        these are probably related to the word for mountain pass.

NW = ja tárie
to the NW = rú tárie

the North-West = lji sóthtárien
        these are probably related to the word for rain.

        these are definitely from the word for beginning.
