I don't know what the official position is and I'm just a grunt (no
team). My personal position is that if something is already living in a
bottle or something, I'll leave it. In the past on regular dives I've
picked up lots of plastic bags, a rubber boot, assorted types of junky
tools, bottles, and cans. With the bottles, there's often a small crab
or fish already inside so I'll leave it. Pretty soon it will be covered
up enough to look pretty natural.
