And then there's the simultaneous translator from German (SOV in
subordinate clauses) to English (SVO throughout) who says
"I suppose that" and then falls silent for five solid minutes.
When his supervisor asks him if his mike is dead he replies,
"No sir, I'm waiting for the verb."

Seriously, languages with rigid word order usually have some way to
jump out and start a new sentence with an appropriate resumptive
pronoun, or perhaps in a VSO language a pro-verb would be more useful.
