I was a bit carried away by the rediscovery of the Stress System Database which
had disappeared awhile ago. ( http://www.cf.ac.uk/psych/ssd/ )

Um, basically it says stress on 3+ syllable words is placed in the following
order: second syllable from the right if it's heavy, third syllable from the
right if it's heavy, third syllable from the right if it's not heavy. In
shorter words it's always on the initial syllable.
