Which is why St. Dmitri of Rostov, in the 17th century, wrote The Great
Collection of the Lives of the Saints. There is at least one vita for each
day of the year, sometimes more. It's currently being translated from
Church Slavonic into English, and the volumes for September through January
have been published to date. My children absolutely love listening to it
read aloud, even if I wonder how much of it they do or don't understand.
