I suspect most foreign English dictionaries don't contain > slangish words like "barf" :-) In the same vein, I went out to buy a bath towel (from a store that also sold Barf by the box), and they gave it to me in a shopping bag labeled, "JOHN IN LOVE FARMS - It has to be fresh ever for John." This had no connection to the name of the store.
