You know, this thread reminds me - are there any records of Latin
speakers decrying the use of "horrid" new Romance languages like
Spanish and French? I'd like to see a passage where one of them wrote
on how Spanish for example looked nice enough and seemed easy to
learn, but there was no way he could see such a "corrupted" Latin ever
being embraced by a learned population. That would be great to read.
Maybe something written in Portugal in 1250 or so.
