Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialists 

 
The Inova Fairfax Hospital Emergency Department is the only Level I trauma 
center in Northern Virginia and is a premier academic medical center with 
several residency programs.   The ED has an annual volume of over 75,000 patients.   
A new state-of-the art Pediatric Emergency Department opened in January, 2006 
and is seeing volume in the mid 20s.   The Michael F. Altieri Pediatric 
Emergency Medicine fellowship program and the presence of pediatric and emergency 
medicine residents provide a clear anchor for the department.   This 
environment provides a pleasant combination of high intellectual energy, a low stress 
academic focus, and a strong community-focused practice of pediatric emergency 
medicine. 

Candidates must be Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine board 
eligible/certified and possess excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
