I know I've mentioned this before, but a workable SSM
system that would admit a lot of borrowings would be
nCn(VC)  that is, one or more consonants followed
by one or more vowel-consonant groups.  If y and w
are regarded as consonants, that would enable a lot
of words to end with diphthongs, making for greater
ease of pronunciation.  It would give you words like
bratalim
skoripay
yun
salam
etc.

If you decided on that, there could be various ways
of separating lexicals from grammar words.
