There is literature on this.
Recently reports from Europe erupted where immune compromised patients given
pro biotics became septic from the bacteria in the products.

For me that is reason enough to avoid them.
Besides the experience in the literature is that they do not work any better
than prayer.

Take a look at Ron G Barr's work on the Period of Purple Crying. It should
be very illustrative in explaining the new thoughts on colic. All babies cry
, some cry more than others.

Has anyone actually looked at this? I know not exactly an emergency
medicine topic, but I have fielded many questions at night about this. I
wonder how good this work is?
