Our PICU team recently gave a talk on intubating septic kids to promote using alternative
agents, namely Ketamine, instead of etomidate due to the adrenal suppression. They also
included atropine as part of the rapid sequence regimen.

Do all of you use atropine as part of your rapid sequence intubation of septic pediatric
patients?
At what age you stop using atropine?
What doses of atropine do you use (some use lower doses)?
