I don't even know why I can pronounce that [r] sound without trouble,
unlike my father, brother and sister. The only languages I've heard on a
regular base as a kid were German from my surroundings and songs in
English on the radio. English doesn't usually have [r] or [4] in the pop
music variety ([r\]/[@] instead), and the German dialects I was exposed
to as a child didn't have either AFAICT ([R]/[6] instead).
