 In addition to our new physical plant and new faculty, we are planning for
the incorporation of a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, in 2011.

Stony Brook University Medical Center is a state designated Level I Trauma
Center and a regional Burn Center with a growing volume of 21,000 pediatric
visits per year.  The Pediatric Emergency Department is the primary training
site for the Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine Residency
programs at Stony Brook.  It also hosts clerkships and elective rotations
for medical students of the Stony Brook University School of Medicine.
Additionally the Departments of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine have long
standing track records in both basic science and clinical research.
