If I may interpret the question to mean, "In my alien language would does
the phrase 'It is morning' literally mean?" I can think of a few things:

Dawn lies. (glitters?)
Morning rises. (extols?)
Noontide stands. (salutes?)
Afternoon leans. (broods?)
Evening sits down. (glowers?)
Nighttime looms (stretches?)

Of course, the metaphor might be completely reversed, plus the aliens may
have a few irregular verbs or borrowings that confuse the entire thing.

Winter giggles ...
Three o'clock yawns ...
The rainy season gasps ...
