Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty Positions

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas is seeking outstanding individuals for four faculty in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. Candidates with interest/experience in pediatric US, injury prevention, telemedicine, or simulation education are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates for leading the above programs will be offered protected time, competitive compensation package, and a generous incentive plan.

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division offers a variety of clinical, academic and administrative opportunities for candidates at all stages of their careers.  UT Southwestern offers all of the resources needed to build well-balanced careers in teaching, research, and clinical service in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Current areas of academic focus include pre-hospital care, transport, information technology, neurologic emergencies, trauma, pain management, and toxicology. The division has a full time research coordinator and research assistants are available 16 hours per day

Faculty provide clinical coverage at the main campus of children’s hospital in Dallas and the Legacy campus in Plano. We currently have 17 PEM faculty, 5 general pediatric faculty, 9 PEM fellows, and acute care PNP’s. The Dallas campus is a level one pediatric trauma center with an average annual patient volume of 120,000 visits. Of these approximately 75,000 children with acute illness or injuries are evaluated in the main ED. Low acuity patients are evaluated in the fast track area by other providers. The Legacy campus, located in Plano, is a community hospital with full service emergency department. Service at the Legacy campus is growing rapidly with a current annual census of 40,000 visits to the emergency department. Staffing at the Legacy campus includes PEM physicians, general pediatricians, and acute care advanced practice providers.

Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and board eligible or certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with academic credentials.
