Hi Antonio,

I would definitely use <ref target="#theBibl">Baxter, 1983</ref> for 
this. You might want to look at the jTEI customization 
(<http://www.tei-c.org/Guidelines/Customization/jTEI/>), which uses this 
approach, and has an example here:
