I'm using TEI to encode late 19th/early 20th century English language newspapers from Egypt. Very interested in continuing this discussion - maybe we can start a shared document off of the TEI mailing list to input emails and research interests?

I'm very interested in this topic, as well. I've been working on a project using TEI to mark up mid-19C magazines. I won't be in Vienna, but would be keen to join a virtual discussion and/or keep this thread going.
