It might be interesting to categorize the language according to the
biological systems which produce it.  The language may consist of colors
and patterns, but is presumably produced by specialized chromatophores, if
biological creatures originally produced it.

What about 'chromalogic' as the adjective describing such a language, from
the Greek words *chroma *(color) and *logos *(word)?  The main disadvantage
would be that English speakers would tend to use an etymologically
incorrect pronunciation with that spelling.
