Hi,

{1} Does anyone know of a non-Algonquian natlang that uses obviation instead of case or other means to associate roles with arguments? If so, are there any that mark the proximate instead of the obviative?

{2} Are there any natlangs that combine (past and future) tense with adverbs for "then" or "when", etc.? I know there are some that mark tense separate from the verb.

{3} Interrogative phrases in subordinate clauses can be "raised" to the matrix clause as well as being fronted; but do they *have* to be (in a basically verb-before-arguments syntax)?
