This being the TEI list, Syd is suggesting that, start from the next TEI release, ODDs for customizing *the TEI* will need to refer to *TEI datatypes* using teidata.XYZ.

MEI does not use TEI datatypes, but its own, so this change does not affect non-TEI languages.
