Delurking - Kanteuka:
ship - hesseg
boat - hessata
canoe - waiyes

hess is the root - watercraft - and -eg and -ata are "big" and "small"
respectively. The phoneme [h] gets dropped and the [i] of wai -
foreign - lengthens to a semivowel in its place, while the gemination
of [ss] shortens.

The Kanteiu, speakers of Kanteuka, had developed their watercraft well
beyond the initial canoe into sea-going craft capable of carrying at
least thirty people for at least a hand of days before they
encountered people using dugouts and sea-going canoes on the Sea of
Storms after they crossed the Western Ranges to conquer.
