Sounds like you have been out of the country.. Here in Memphis we always use
air first to reduce intesusceptions and with > 90 % efficacy..Rare to have
to go to barium.. LApaorscopic appendectomies are routine here,,,in fact we
do a delayed procedure for ruptured appies,, Admit, antibiotics till cool
then return in 4-6 weeks for removal and cleanup..
THe Chop EM course is a good one,, given every fall, ( been twice) Also
would reccomend the Primary CHildren's COurse given in Feb in PArk City
Utah,, Last year Doug Baker organized a PEM course for the AAP and it was
also hailed as a big success,,
